Women’s Country Week
Whether you have represented the BDCA for many years or are considering Women’s Country Week for the first time, you are warmly invited to nominate.
Women’s Country Week provides players from across the Bunbury and Districts region with an opportunity to represent the Association, compete against other regional teams and enjoy the experience of representative cricket.
Players of different backgrounds and levels of experience are encouraged to nominate. Team arrangements will depend on nominations and the requirements of the carnival.

Competition Format
Women’s Country Week is coordinated by the Country Cricket Board and brings together representative teams from regional cricket associations across Western Australia.
The 2027 carnival will be played across three days in the Peel region, from Saturday 23 January to Monday 25 January. It provides senior women with the opportunity to represent their association and compete against other regional teams.
Confirmed divisions, match formats, venues and fixtures will be published through PlayCricket once released by the competition organisers.
Nominations and Selection
Players interested in representing the BDCA must submit the online nomination form by the advertised closing date. Nominations for the 2027 carnival will close in late November 2026.
Players must meet the applicable registration and carnival eligibility requirements, be available for the required matches and team commitments, and agree to comply with the carnival rules, codes of conduct and BDCA team expectations.
The number of teams and grades entered will depend on nominations received and carnival requirements. BDCA aims to provide representative opportunities to eligible players wherever team numbers allow.
Team selection will consider player performance and commitment, team balance, availability, conduct and sportsmanship, leadership, BDCA values and opportunities to develop emerging representative players.
Submitting a nomination does not guarantee selection. Final teams will be confirmed by the BDCA Women’s Country Week Selection Panel and will be announced through official BDCA communication channels. A standby list may also be created to cover withdrawals or injuries.
Questions about selection should be submitted in writing to rep.cricket@bdca.asn.au within 48 hours of teams being announced.
Team Leadership and Communication
Each BDCA team will be supported by appointed team officials, which may include a captain, vice-captain and team manager.
Appointments will consider leadership, communication, reliability, respect within the playing group, understanding of the Spirit of Cricket and alignment with BDCA values.
Official carnival updates will be provided through email and approved BDCA communication channels. Team messaging groups may also be established closer to the carnival to coordinate training, fixtures, travel and other team arrangements.
Players are responsible for keeping their contact details current and responding promptly when information or confirmation is requested.
Training and Team Preparation
Training sessions, practice matches and team meetings will be scheduled during January. Dates, venues and attendance information will be provided to nominated and selected players once arrangements are confirmed.
Players should make every effort to attend scheduled activities. These sessions provide an opportunity to meet teammates, prepare for the carnival and receive important team information.
A team briefing and uniform collection may also be held alongside a January training session or practice match.
Travel and Accommodation
Women’s Country Week will be played at venues throughout the Peel region. Players are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation to matches, team activities and other carnival commitments.
Fees and Payment
A $125 deposit is required when nominating for Women’s Country Week. The deposit must be paid through the BDCA website to complete your nomination and will form part of your total carnival payment.
The total player contribution for the 2027 Women’s Country Week carnival is expected to be approximately $200. This includes each player’s contribution towards:
-
Team nomination fees
-
Match balls and umpire costs
-
Player lunches across the three carnival days
-
Small incidental team expenses
The remaining balance is expected to be approximately $75 and will be due in mid-January. The confirmed balance and final payment deadline will be communicated once all carnival costs have been finalised.
New Player Uniform Package
Eligible new BDCA representative players can purchase a New Player Kit for $75, which includes:

One pair of BDCA playing pants
-
One BDCA baggy blue cap
Additional or replacement uniform items can be purchased separately through the BDCA Shop. Uniform purchases are separate from the carnival contribution.
Uniforms
Players must wear the approved BDCA representative uniform during Country Week.
Eligible new representative players can purchase the New Player Kit for $75, which includes:
-
One playing shirt in the selected style and size
-
One pair of playing pants
-
One BDCA baggy blue cap
Returning players should check that their existing uniform remains suitable and complete. Replacement and additional uniform items may be purchased separately through the BDCA Shop.
Players will select the required sizes when ordering online. All uniform orders are collection only and will generally be distributed at a pre-carnival training session, team meeting or another nominated BDCA collection time.
Under-18 Players
As per the Senior Women’s Country Week Under 18 Players policy, players who are under the age of 18 remain under the duty of care of their parents for all non-match related activities during the carnival. Accommodation, transport and supervision is required to be undertaken by a parent/guardian. Female players under the age of 14 years are strongly encouraged to nominate for Junior Country Week as their primary representative opportunity, with this opportunity being provided for the first time in 2027.
Player Requirements and Safety
Players are expected to comply with the carnival’s playing conditions, BDCA team requirements and the Cricket Australia Code of Conduct.
Helmets are compulsory for all batters and for wicketkeepers standing up to the stumps. Umpires will enforce this requirement, so every player must bring the appropriate protective equipment.
Players must also complete required payments by the advised deadlines and promptly notify their captain or BDCA if their availability changes.
Fixtures, Results and Live Streaming
Fixtures, venues, results and ladders will be available through the Country Cricket Board competition on PlayCricket. Players should check the competition regularly, as match details may be updated.
FrogBox streaming is expected to be available for all BDCA matches. Links to available live streams and replays will be shared when the fixtures and streaming schedule are confirmed.
Rules and Downloads
Official rules, playing conditions and carnival information for Country Cricket Board-run representative carnivals are published on the Country Cricket Board website. Players, captains and team officials should review the current information relevant to their carnival before participating.
Everyone representing the BDCA must also comply with the BDCA Code of Conduct and uphold the standards expected of association representatives.
